CEU to Launch Tree-Planting Initiative to Mark Centennial Celebration

Manila: The Centro Escolar University (CEU) is set to kick off a tree-planting initiative called ‘A Hundred Trees for a Hundred Years’ in Angeles City in July. This effort is part of the centennial celebration of the university’s School of Dentistry, which has been a pillar of dental education since its founding.

According to Philippines News Agency, the centennial celebration, themed “10 Dekadang Kahusayan: Pagdiriwang ng Kalidad ng Edukasyon sa Dentistriya (10 Decades of Excellence: A Celebration of Quality Education in Dentistry),” began on February 28 with a red-carpet procession event. The year-long festivities also include a belated commemoration of “Perio Day” on August 9, focusing on the connection between oral and systemic health, and ‘Ortho Day’ activities scheduled for September 17.

The celebration will conclude at the Manila Hotel in November with an event organized by the CEU Dental Alumni Chapter (CEUDAC). This event will honor 100 successful CEU Dentistry graduates who have made significant contributions across various fields including academia, research, hospital practice, organizations, government dental practice, military service, entertainment, and politics.

The CEU School of Dentistry is recognized as one of the top dentistry schools in the country, known for its rigorous academic instruction and hands-on clinical training. It has consistently produced outstanding graduates who excel in the dentist licensure examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), consistently achieving topnotchers over the years.

The institution has received prestigious accolades, including the First Highest Level of Accreditation, Level IV, Reaccredited Status from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA), and the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Quality Assurance certification. As a respected member of the South-East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE), CEU Dentistry holds the distinction of being the first dental school in Southeast Asia to undergo a peer review by SEAADE.
