Baguio: The Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. (CGFI) and Cebu Blue Bloods (CBB) have provided over PHP1 million in financial assistance to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Cebu and Mindanao.
According to Philippines News Agency, the CGFI allocated PHP300,000 for families impacted in areas such as Bogo, Tabuelan, Tabogon, San Remegio, and Medellin. Meanwhile, CBB, an association of golfers, contributed PHP420,000, totaling PHP720,000 in aid for Cebu.
Each family that lost a member in the magnitude 6.9 earthquake has received PHP10,000 in cash support. Additionally, the CGFI has donated PHP300,000 to assist victims in Mindanao.
Arnel Peil, the president of CGFI, mentioned that the funds were raised during the CGFI’s third annual golf tournament held in April. The foundation emphasized their commitment to the Cordilleran tradition of ‘binnadang’, which means helping one another during crises.
