MANILA: The shear line and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” are set to continue affecting parts of Luzon, according to the weather bureau on Sunday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a 4 a.m. bulletin indicating that the shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. The Ilocos Region and other parts of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will see cloudy skies accompanied by rains as a result of the northeast monsoon. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms triggered by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA has cautioned residents about the possibility of flash floods in areas where moderate to heavy rains occur. In Northern Lu
zon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, strong to gale-force winds from the northeast will lead to strong to gale coastal waters.
The temperature for the day is forecasted to range from 24.6°C to 31.0°C.
