BANGKOK, Thailand -- Thailand will organise the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 in January to promote regional tourism promotion, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Pongpanu Svetarundra, permanent secretary of the Tourism and Sports Ministry, said the 37th ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 was set in Chiang Mai province on Jan 22-26, 2018.

The forum will gather tourism executives from 10 Southeast Asian nations and dialogue partners namely China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and India. It is aimed at boosting tourism cooperation among the participating countries.

Pongpanu said the meeting was also intended to promote Southeast Asian nations as the 'Single Destination' for tourists.

The forum would lead to tourism-related trade worth at least 2 billion baht (US$61.37 million) and attract 120 million visitors to ASEAN, he said.
