Telephone Conversation between H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and H.E. Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan

On 17 November 2021, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, had a telephone conversation with H.E. Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, following the latter’s assumption of office on 10 November 2021.

The two Ministers shared the views on strengthening the Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Japan on the occasion of the 135th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Japan in 2022 and the 50th Anniversary of Japan and ASEAN relations in 2023. Both sides discussed cooperation in COVID-19 vaccine, the easing of border measures for travelers, and economic cooperation, including the drafting of the 5-Year Joint Strategic Plan on Thailand – Japan Strategic Economic Partnership, promotion of Japanese investment in Thailand in areas of expertise such as IT, robotics and Quantum technology, as well as environmental cooperation. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interests.
