South Korea’s Media Regulator Plans Fine on AliExpress for Unfair Practices.

Seoul: South Korea’s media regulator announced plans to impose a fine on the operator of the Chinese e-commerce platform AliExpress, citing deceptive business practices. The announcement was made on Wednesday, highlighting concerns over practices that are believed to have misled users and infringed upon consumer rights.

According to Yonhap News Agency, AliExpress is under scrutiny for allegedly harming its users through false or exaggerated advertisements aimed at attracting new subscriptions. Additionally, the platform is accused of violating users’ rights by obstructing their ability to cancel subscriptions. The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has intervened, requesting the platform’s operators to implement corrective measures.

The KCC has stated that a committee meeting will be held to review AliExpress’s response to these allegations and decide on the imposition of a fine. The regulator’s move is part of a broader effort to ensure fair business practices and protect consumers in the digital market
