INCHEON: South Korean golfer An Byeong-hun emerged victorious over fellow countryman Tom Kim in a gripping playoff at the Genesis Championship, a DP World Tour event, held at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. The win marks An's second career victory on the DP World Tour, with his first being at the BMW Championship in 2015.According to Yonhap News Agency, An secured his win by birdieing the par-5 18th hole, the first hole of the playoff, earning a prize of US$680,000. The Genesis Championship is jointly sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the KPGA Tour, and An, a seasoned PGA Tour competitor, has now achieved two career wins on the South Korean circuit.An and Kim started the final round tied for the lead, each carding a five-under 67 to conclude at 17-under 271. The playoff saw An clinch the title with a birdie while Kim, a three-time PGA Tour champion, made his first bogey on the 18th hole during the tournament.Among the 32 KPGA players participating in the 120-player field, Kim Hong-taek delivered the st rongest performance by tying for ninth place at 11-under. Only two other KPGA players managed to finish within the top 30.
