Singaporean stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 1.49 percent, or 50.07 points, to close at 3,407.02.
A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.23 billion Singaporean dollars (about 903.78 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 218 to 171.
The STI index went up 0.2 percent, or 6.67 points, to close at 3,356.95 last Friday.
