RABAT, At the instruction of the king, Abdeltif Loudyi, the minister delegate to the head of government in charge of national defence administration, received here Thursday the visiting Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Defence of Singapore, Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman,
The Singapore official, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a large delegation, discussed during his meeting with Loudyi the relations of friendship and co-operation between the two countries in several fields and highlighted different areas of convergence between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Singapore.
A statement issued by the national defence administration said the talks also focused on means to initiate co-operation between the two countries in the area of national defence. The two officials put forward promising prospects for bilateral co-operation.
The exchange of technical expertise, including in the field of cyber security, and co-operation in the areas of maritime safety and defence industry could be areas of common interest for the two countries, the statement added.
Mohamad Maliki commended the considerable progress made by Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and highlighted the kingdom's active commitment to peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
Diplomatic relations between Morocco and Singapore were established in January 1997. The official visit paid by the King to Singapore in 2005 has injected fresh impetus to bilateral relations in several areas.
