ABU DHABI - Philippine Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. headed the Philippine Delegation to the 7th Session of the Assembly of IRENAat St. Regis Hotel, Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from January 14 to 15.

Other members of the Philippine delegation included Assistant Director Marissa P. Cerezo of the Department Energy - Renewable Energy Management Bureau (DOE-REMB), Third Secretary and Vice Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil, and Attache Meradel April E. Reyes.

IRENA, an international organization that serves as a platform for cooperation in the pursuit of a sustainable energy future, is a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on all forms of renewable energy, including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar and wind energy.

During the Philippines' intervention at the 7th Assembly of IRENA, Assistant Director Cerezo highlighted the country's increase in renewable energy production, from one megawatt (MW) solar energy and 33 MW wind energy to 800MW and 400MW installed capacity, respectively. END
