The Philippines participated in the 2017 Moscow Dive Show, the biggest annual dive exhibition in Russia and the larger Eastern European region at the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center in Moscow from February 02 to 05.
Some 300 exhibitors ranging from country exhibitors, tour operators, and retailers participated in the event's second year.
Last year's four-day show attracted 22,000 visitors including more than 1,500 professional divers.
The Moscow Dive Show is one of the diving industry's platforms for networking and direct selling.
"We are very glad to be a part of the Moscow Dive Show and we're happy with the turnout. Our booth attracted a lot of prospective clients interested in knowing more about Philippine diving destinations," said Ms. Rita Doctor of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Ms. Doctor, together with Ms. Rowena Sorioso, Senior Tourism Operations Officer from the DOT's Dive-Market Development Group, represented the Philippines in the event. Assisting the DOT team was Mr. Alexey Stoyda of the SA Luxury Diving Tours and Travel.
Representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Charge d'Affaires, a.i. Luningning G. Camoying and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Catherine Alpay, visited the Philippine booth and congratulated the DOT team for their successful participation in this year's Moscow Dive Show.
We strongly support the DOT's continued focus on Russia as a tourism market and look forward to more promotional activities here," said Ms. Camoying.
