PH AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA RECEIVES TREASURE OF THE YEAR AWARD AS PART OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON ANNUAL AWARDS

MOSCOW, 29 December 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Russia Igor G. Bailen received the Treasure of the Year award as part of the Golden Dragon Annual Awards from the influential Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE) in an awarding ceremony and reception held at the Metropol Hotel Moscow on 20 December 2022.

RAUIE’s diverse membership includes executives and industry leaders from various categories, including automotive, nuclear power, food and beverage, agriculture and by-products, technology, and education, among others. The business group serves as a platform for implementing Russian government programs and private initiatives to foster Russian-Asian business partnerships and humanitarian cooperation.

The awards ceremony was preceded by keynote speeches. RAUIE President/Chairman Vitaliy Mankevich, who highlighted the Philippines’ active involvement in the advancement of Asian-Russian cooperation, reported the positive outlook of the Russian economy, which is expected to grow up to 15% in 2023, despite Western sanctions and COVID-19.

Mankevich highlighted the union’s frontiers in the business landscape for 2023-2024, which include the implementation of key investment projects throughout Asia as well as the opening of educational support channels for science and technology, business, and management.

In his speech, Ambassador Bailen invited the audience to visit the Philippines’ top destinations which have been recognized by leading international publications such as Conde Nast. Following a review of the PH economic profile, he also invited the audience to liaise with the Philippine Trade & Investment Center at the Philippine Embassy in Moscow to learn more about investment opportunities and trade or sourcing opportunities.

Finally, Ambassador Bailen highlighted the Philippines as a friendly country that is open to Russian tourism and business, citing that Russian citizens do not require a visa to travel to the Philippines for tourism purposes.
