The Police have arrested a 65-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

On 26 September 2019 at about 9.40am, the Police received a report from a woman that her gold necklace was snatched away by an unknown man.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 27 September 2019.

The man will be charged in court on 28 September 2019 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
