Malaysia's new Per�ma�nent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Datuk Amran Mohamed Zin, has presented his letter of appoint-ment to the director-general of United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG), Michael Moller.

Amran, who assumed the post this month, also exchanged views with Moller on the cooperation between Malaysia and the UN in Geneva, as well as on the Human Rights Council and Conference on Disarmament.

This is the second Geneva stint for Amran after the first posting, from 2004 to 2008, as deputy permanent representative.

He served as Malaysia's ambassador to Turkey for two years from 2014.

Prior to that he was undersecretary in the South-East Asia division at Wisma Putra, and Minister Counsellor at the Malaysian embassy from 2008 to 2010.
