Indonesia held simultaneously the presidential and parliamentary elections on Wednesday which witnessed the high enthusiasm from the voters.
More than 190 million Indonesians were eligible to cast a ballot in the elections.
The presidential election pits incumbent President Joko Widodo against Prabowo Subianto, a former commander of Indonesian special forces and chairman of the Great Indonesian Movement Party. The two men also faced in the 2014 election when Widodo won the popular vote.
Female teenager Mira Haryani said she came to vote to show her real support for presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Sandiaga Uno, a businessman.
The girl said that she and her family hoped that the Prabowo and Sandiaga pair could be successful in the election this year.
Another voter in the same polling station voted for the incumbent president.
"I did not hesitate to vote for Widodo this time as he has set good records during his presidential term. He has done a lot to build infrastructure that we actually needs now," Sugianto Haryadi, a 47 year-old office worker told Xinhua.
He said that people have benefited a lot from the massive infrastructure built by the current government. "We now can save significant traveling time with new toll roads crossing Java Island. Toll roads are now extensively developed outside Java as well."
Sugianto said that his vote for Widodo had remained unchanged since 2014.
"No one is comparable to Widodo at present. He never considers himself as the one that must be respected by people. He is an easy going person. People respect him for his good deeds and hard working," he noted.
A humble expectation was expressed by a lady who voted in a polling station in Central Jakarta's sumptuous area of Menteng later in the day.
Reluctant to disclose her vote, the 56 year-old Dewi Utami hoped that whoever wins the presidential election, he should focus on people's character building during his government term.
"Building people's good character would eventually improve discipline among the people. This attitude is priceless asset and it will greatly contribute to the development program of the nation," she said.
