China on Thursday donated office equipment to southwestern Cambodia's Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall in order to help officials to work faster and more efficient.

The handover ceremony was made at the Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh between Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian and Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor Kuoch Chamroeun.

The donation included five large-scale photocopiers, 30 desktop computers, 30 laptop computers, 30 black-and-white printers, and 10 color-laser printers, Wang said.

The donation was made at the request of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall, the ambassador said, adding that he believed that the pieces of equipment would help officials to increase their work efficiency.

Chamroeun thanked the ambassador for the donation, saying that the pieces of equipment would be very useful for his officials to work faster and more efficient.

He also expressed his profound gratitude to the Chinese government for encouraging more and more investors and tourists to Cambodia, saying that they had importantly contributed to socio-economic development and poverty reduction in Cambodia.

The coastal province of Preah Sihanouk is located about 230 km southwest of Phnom Penh.
