As part of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' (BSP) celebration of its 24th anniversary, the 2017 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Region I and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will be held to honor the institutions that have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs. With the theme Transforming Shared Visions Into Dynamic Partnership, the occasion will take place at the Convention Hall, BSP La Union Regional Office, San Fernando City, La Union on Tuesday, 18 July 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monetary Board Member Juan D. De ZuAiga, Jr. will lead in honoring this year's awardees and stakeholders.
The BSP will present thirteen awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support category�two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), one for the Coordinated Direct Investment Survey (CDIS) and two for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for Advocacy Support category�one for the Local Government Unit (LGU) Coordination, four for the Currency Programs of the BSP and three for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns. One Gold Hall of Fame Award will be accorded to the outstanding partner who won in the same award category for three consecutive years.
The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES respondents selected from among the country's top corporations in Region I and CAR who have participated regularly in the survey by providing timely, consistent, accurate and complete responses. The Outstanding Respondent for CDIS was selected from the respondents who provided timely, consistent, accurate and complete information on their international transactions. The Outstanding Partner for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be awarded to the agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective environment scan of Region I and CAR. The Kapit-Bisig Award (City Level) will be granted to the LGU, which has successfully collaborated with the BSP in attaining consumer protection. The Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs will be given to agencies or institutions that supported the BSP's currency programs and advocacies in Region I and CAR, such as the coin circulation and demonetization of the new design series. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns will be given to agencies or institutions that supported the BSP's public information campaigns conducted in Region I and CAR.
This occasion is the first of the BSP's regional stakeholders' events which will be held from July to September 2017 in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 11 July 2017 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
The awards ceremony is expected to further strengthen the alliance between the BSP and its stakeholders in achieving a more efficient and effective means of gathering information and the conduct of advocacy campaigns to carry out its ultimate goal of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlement system in the country.
