Monetary Board Member Juan D. De ZuAiga, Jr. led the awards ceremony and appreciation lunch for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region V held at Multi-Purpose Hall, BSP Legazpi Branch, Legazpi City, Albay.

Ngo & Sons Trading & Industries, Inc. was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms. The company will also receive the Gold Hall of Fame award for being the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for three consecutive years. Naga Ritz Corporation was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey in Region V. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Region V received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. Meanwhile, the awards on Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs of the BSP were conferred to the following: Land Bank of the Philippines-Legazpi and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company-Cash Hub for Clean Note Policy; Ligao City National High School for Coin Recirculation; and Department of Education-Regional Office V and ABS CBN for Demonetization of the New Design Series. Lastly, the award for Outstanding Regional Partners for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns were conferred to College of Business Economics and Management-Bicol University and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture. Each awardee was presented the Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle trophy while the Gold Hall of Fame awardee received the Soaring to Greater Heights trophy, both of which were crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.

This event attests to the successful alliances that have helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier commended during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 11 July 2017. The annual stakeholders' awards in Region V marks the eight time that the BSP has recognized stakeholders in the region and is the fourth in a series of 12 regional stakeholders' events for this year.
